Energetic, expressive, and so much fun — Jazz is where confidence and technique come together.
Dancers build flexibility, strength, control, and musicality while exploring a variety of jazz styles that keep things fresh and exciting. Each class includes a dynamic warm-up, stretch, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations that grow in complexity as your child does.
It’s a fun, simple way to build strong dance foundations while boosting confidence and performance skills.
Come try a class — no pressure, no commitment. It’s a simple and easy way for your dancer to explore, have fun, and see what feels right.

What does my dancer need for Jazz class?
Jazz is all about energy, expression, and movement — and the right attire helps your dancer feel confident and ready to shine.
Footwear – Choose what works best for your dancer:
– Option 1: Beige slip-on Jazz shoes (Bloch or So Danca)
– Option 2: Same Jazz shoe in black
Body & Legs – Two simple options:
– Option 1: Fitted dance top or Mondor leotard 3505 with Mondor convertible beige tights, plus leggings or dance shorts
– Option 2: Fitted t-shirt with leggings or shorts
Hair:
Hair should be pulled up and off the face to support clean lines and focused movement.
For Primary & Junior Jazz/Tap Combo Classes:
In addition to Jazz shoes, dancers will also need Tap shoes:
– Option 1: Beige Mary Jane style tap shoes
– Option 2: Black Oxford style tap shoes
All items can be purchased locally at City Dancewear or Muge Dancewear — both carry what you’ll need.
After you register, a welcome email will walk you through everything step-by-step, making it all super simple and convenient. And if you ever have questions, you’re never on your own — just reach out!
Classes are closed to parents and visitors — and that’s actually a big help for your child. It allows dancers to focus fully on their instructor without distraction, and gives shy little ones the space to build confidence in a calm, comfortable setting.
There will be special opportunities during the season to come in and see how much they’ve learned — and those moments are always extra sweet!
It’s completely normal — many dancers feel this way at first. Your child will be gently supported every step of the way by caring instructors who understand how to help little ones feel safe, seen, and included.
Most children settle in quickly once they see the fun and start moving. And if it takes a little longer, that’s okay too — it’s all part of the journey, and your child will never be rushed.
Yes! Every dancer will have the chance to shine in the Year-End Recital this June — it’s a beautiful way to celebrate everything they’ve learned and gained throughout the season. To keep things simple and organized, a non-refundable costume deposit of $75 will be charged to your account on November 15.
If your dancer will be away, just give the studio a quick call or text at (403) 250-0109 to let us know.
As a small studio, most classes are only offered once a week, so makeups aren’t available at this time.
Tuition is not prorated, as instructors are scheduled and paid for each class regardless of attendance.
Thank you for understanding — it helps keep things simple and smooth for everyone!
